Tour a Sun Valley Ski Chalet With Charmingly Retro Energy
“They were really into the idea of a retro home, something that no one else has,” says Miller, founder and creative director of Minneapolis-based AD PRO Directory firm Yond Interiors. Inspired by the dramatic A-line roof and, in her words, “funky layout,” the couple encouraged Miller to stay true to the spirit of the 3,500-square-foot house—and to embrace its idiosyncrasies rather than fight them. AD100 Hall of Fame interior designer William Sofield, the jovial godfather of modern luxury whose clients have included Tom Ford and Ralph Lauren, designed the couple's New York town house. Ripa and Consuelos brought on Sofield and his creative right hand and vice president at Studio Sofield, Emma O’Neill, to renovate their Upper East Side home when they purchased it 12 years ago. Tour an Interior Designer’s Lush and Calming Malibu Oasis
The gut renovation of a 1951 Colonial Revival house on a sprawling one-acre lot brought other priorities into focus. When AD PRO Directory member Sarah Solis and her husband, photographer Rennie Solis, purchased the property in 2020, she began developing an ambitious remodel that included expanding the footprint while mixing Colonial gentility and old world charm with Cliff May–inspired ranch house vibes. Then after about six months into the process, Solis changed course. “I realized I had something magical to work with within what the capsule already was,” she explains. Photo by Michael P. H. Centered by Design incorporated well-curated antiques to give a house old soul. A brass-and-alabaster chandelier by Visual Comfort highlights the stately barrel vault ceiling in the primary bedroom, where an Eastern Accents bed is flanked by Noir nightstands and a vintage bench from Jayson Home. Custom drapery in a Commune Design for Kufri fabric, a Loloi rug, and a Guy Goodfellow throw pillow imbue the space with patterned depth and dimension. Photo by Taylor Hall O’Brien

Jennifer Garner's Cozy California Home
Because Garner really lives in her home, Steve and Brooke knew that the spot would continue to evolve. “I don’t think homes are ever finished,” Brooke says. “This is one moment in time in their life. As the family grows and as her children get older, they are going to add a layer and change things around.” Still, for today, Garner says with contentment, “I am happy that I feel like we use the space really well, and that the kids are all over the house. They’re as comfortable sitting in the living room as they are doing homework in the dining room. And that’s the dream, right?” Photo by Laure Joliet, Styled by Mieke ten Have

This Historic Portland Manse Inspired by Nature Is a Maximalist’s Dream
When LA resident Elizabeth Miller and her husband started looking for a home in Portland, Oregon, to be closer to two of their four adult sons, she envisioned a smaller property with some history and much of its original detailing intact. What she discovered—and ultimately fell in love with—delivered on the second two qualities, if, at nearly 7,000-square-feet, not quite the first. This 330-Square-Foot Chinatown Rental Was Transformed With a $5,000 Budget
Content creator Phoebe Kut proves multipurpose furniture is the key to small space design. The handy built-ins in the bedroom received Amazon antique brass pulls, too—but it’s the curvy, vertical striped Lulu and Georgia headboard that steals the show. It’s flanked by swing-arm sconces and walnut Burrow Index stools that act as minimalist nightstands day-to-day, but can also be used as extra seating for guests and to reach high-up storage. Of course, Kut made sure they could play multiple roles. Photo by Jenn Xu
A Sophisticated Aspen Home Nestled in the Mountains
Growing up amid the mountains of Colorado has long informed architect Cristof Eigelberger’s approach to designing homes. His aesthetic ideals of form and proportion—along with his own love of the great outdoors—has been the catalyst for creating properties that blend seamlessly into their rustic, natural environments. So when a New York client commissioned him to build a home in the shadow of the Aspen mountains, Eigelberger employed his usual dexterous handling of material and texture to create a ranch-style residence rooted in modernism.
