first of all the slime girl battle is almost impossible because either the controls stop working or you fall of the cage and you can't go back so your stuck in an endless loop trying to beat the slime girl who does multiple attacks at the same time making it almost impossible and especially with no upgradable gear or better weapons
I would really like it if you could give some in games hints on how to defeat the slime girl or a way to upgrade stats or gear and possibly a health bar. Now besides that problem I do very much like the game and hope that you continue and I respect the effort you put in to this even though you have a job to pay the bills, I say keep it up and maybe look in the the slime girl battle when you can
As I mentioned in my comment https://itch.io/post/9480586 I actually struggled with the slime girl and the escape sections because I thought you had to mash the key rather than hold it down. Once I realized I could hold the button down, it made it manageable.
Yeah, the slime girl can be tricky especially since once you reach 2 health, you can't attack and must struggle to restore your ability to attack.
As far as I know, this is a one-person-project, so it is expected, and reasonable, that it is going to take many months before there have been enough development, that it warrants a new update. It is also likely that the developer is not getting their bills paid with the game as it is now, which means they will not have time to work on the game 24/7, likely much less time, since money needs to come from somewhere else.
Therefore, I don’t think that just because months have passed without any new updates is a reason to question whether the game will be finished.
I really like what I´ve seen so far and think that it will be worth both the wait, and money, when the full game is ready. I would prefer it well done over half-baked.

I like the game. It has a lot of promise to be a fun damsel/bondage focused Metroidvania game. So far my only compaint is the timing for when you get fully captured. You don't have enough stamina to get free in bar, which is fine, but the decay of progress is fast enough so that it will be at 50% when your stamina regenerates completely. This has left me in a struggle loop where I can't get free because I keep running out of stamina just before escaping and the progress has decayed enough that I can't get out in a single bar unless I'm lucky.

I would add: the animations for changing rooms are a bit fiddly.
When crouch-dropping into a room below, the head can register above the lower room's ceiling and put you back in the room where you started.
When moving left or right into a room with a low ceiling, the character will sometimes be stuck in an airborne animation with its head rubbing against the ceiling until you slowly move the character (backwards) to an area with a higher ceiling.
Excellent work! This is a lovely start and I'm super excited for what comes next. I have a recommendation for the control scheme: please set Z to jump and X to attack -- this is much more consistent with keyboard-control platformers. I mean, ideally, you'll get gamepad support in, but I'll take this in the meantime.
Hello, I have some suggestions regarding the struggle mechanism of this game
1. When struggling, the camera will zoom in and out, so you can see the character clearly
2. The current struggling system has to look at the arrows while struggling and has no spare time to watch the animation
3. Perhaps the struggle system can be changed to generate buttons randomly on the character's body, and players can use the keyboard to control a "hand" and move it to those buttons and press them. This can allow players to better watch animations while struggling, but this is only a reference solution
The above may be difficult to understand using machine translation, sorry
As of 1.1 I can now reach the Slime Boss and beat her, however I can't get back out from the bottom of the map to explore the rest of the rooms because there wasn't a chandelier for me to jump on to climb out of the pit I was in.
I wish I could at least get Vivi back to her Mistr... I mean the Witch! Yes, that's what I was going to say. The Witch. Wait, what was the Artifact that Cursed Vivi anyway? And where is it right now?
OK, I'm either dumb or softlocked. I opened the first damsel door, went upwards, saved, and when I try to go through the thin platform to exit, I land in the same room again. I reloaded and it's still the same. ETA: I have v1.1.
UPDATE: I got out! After using Capture Me, the exit worked. When it was broken, the lower room would flicker for a frame or two, then the upper room would reload.
The platform is too high to reach, so you can get stuck but the Slime Girl is the end of the demo anyway. Likewise, it's possible to skip the scene with Rosaline and instead head down to the room with the two Damsels where you'll get stuck since the Damsel doesn't spawn and you can't open the door to confront the Slime Girl. I believe there is an option in the pause menu where Vivi can be tied up and respawn at the last save point.
As for the door issue, I'm guessing Boundforgreatness intended you to touch the orb at the save point where Vivi gets tied up and meets Rosaline and then she would head down after escaping. It could be an oversight in her part if she didn't expect players to skip the scene and head straight down where the end of the demo is at.
I have played the game, and it seems interesting to have a DiD game that isn't made in RPG Maker like Didnapper 2 or in 3D like Eternal Dread 3 being made in Unreal. A Didvania is something that is unheard of and is interesting twist to the DiD game formula.
Anyway, there are some things I noticed:
The game's page has an 18+ warning similar although I haven't found any 18+ content similar to Didnapper 2. I don't know if 18+ is given due to bondage.
Enter doesn't advance the text. Only Space does.
Although A and D moves, S doesn't crouch, and W doesn't interact or aim the whip upwards.
The game never tells you that bindings are determined by health (Silenced when reaching 4 hearts, Defenseless when reaching 2 hearts, Bound at 0 hearts).
You can't attack when reaching 2 hearts and you can't talk (i.e., freeing damsels) when reaching 4 hearts.
Whenever you load the game, Vivi must break the cage. The exception is the save point in Rosaline's/Mistress' room.
There's no game over or being sent back to the save point on "death". Instead, you must struggle and escape the bondage.
Interacting with the save point but not saving doesn't restore hearts unlike the Metroid Prime trilogy and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, only saving does. Saving also doesn't remove the statuses like bindings and gags.
Stamina decreases when struggling even when not holding down (or mashing the button).
People have mentioned you can get stuck in the area with the two damsels and the Slime Girl since the platform is too high for Vivi to reach. This also means you can get stuck if you skip the scene with Rosaline and head down to the area.
The download is not marked for Windows. This should be clear as some people with Mac or Linux have asked if the game is available on those OS.
I initially found the required struggle sequences with Rosaline and the maids or being pulled by the enemy difficult because I didn't realize I had to hold down the button instead of mashing it. The Slime Girl could be hard if the player doesn't know you can hold to escape bindings or press X to cancel escaping.
I may have accidentally soft-locked myself. I tried progressing while avoiding the purple orb in one of the save room that triggers the cutscene with the witch. Once I'm downstairs in the same level as the "1 damsel to unlock" door, I cannot go upstairs anymore.
I'm sorry did I play the same game as these people I found it fun and simple. had some trouble with the slime boss until I found out the cages are platforms. will there be another way to use mana like a ranged slime attack you can only learn if you accept the maid binding you in slime
Turns out I did play the updated version only had trouble with the dullahan and the slime boss but the fixed window for the boss fight didn't change after I beat her only when I went left the room then went back
once you get caught and need to struggle free the time for getting out is barley long enough. took me a while to figure out you have to hold the buttons instead of tap them, but even then the escape bar does not fill up nearly fast enough, and to make it worse your progress doesn't save with every attempted escape. it makes me think I may as well reset the whole game when I am caught.
Edit: brute force my way through the game and managed to get all the way to the first save point with the witch despite the overall punishing difficulty and yeah, I'm done. when I found out that every time you hit continue it will now spawn you tied up I decided that the couple of enemies that can catch the girl I was looking forward to are not worth it.
the enemy placement is unfair at times, the enemies require 3 hits to down them which would not be a problem if most did not just walk through my attacks or shoot me anyway and the struggle mechanic needs a complete rework. stopping every 2 seconds of a fight because my arms are tied is already annoying, but it is made worse by the fact that the stamina fills very slowly and so inbetween each time you struggle you have to sit there for 5 minutes, have mercy! And to top it all off EVERY TIME I get a game over I have to do the luck based timing minigame ten plus times till it finally lets me escape and then challenge the room again only for the same thing to happen! I am in hell!

Mashing out of binds is pretty much impossible ESPECIALLY with how slowly your stamina replenishes, and it feels like escaping from getting captured takes TAS-level perfect inputs to make any amount of progress! The escape system needs a serious rework. I can understand the appeal of wanting to watch a cute girl struggle but having to watch the button prompts like a hawk to make sure I don't lose any progress means I am NOT looking at the cute girl struggling! This is in SERIOUS need of a fix.
I agree completely, it makes the game very punishing and not enjoyable, especially with some of the asshole level enemy placement and limited form of attack making you have to stop to get out of binds way more often then I would like. the entire binding system needs a rework, it makes it difficult to play the game.
The escape mechanic confused me as I thought you have to tap or mash the button similar to Didnapper and Gabrielle's Escape. The game (updated version) does explain you can hold down the button, but I would guess people coming from Didnapper and especially Didnapper 2 may not know this.
Its too difficult. Stamina regeneration takes way too long after a escaping a tie. The blue fairies continues to attack you even after out of the screen. The fairies have a huge advantage in combat since that they can attack vertically and diagonally whereas I have to jump and attack which is very difficult with a whip. The whip only attacks in a horizontal straight line so timing is very difficult. I find that resetting to the start of the map very annoying because I died way too much time for my liking. And then if you go back to the previous zone the enemies gotten free. That is so unfair.
For the positives, I like the art style and animation, especially the struggling one. However it gets stale and boring way too quickly with how quickly the enemies kills you.
Overall, I think it needs rebalancing, and a difficulty selector the most in the next update.
Very good game so far (played all the way to the slime boss, can't come up from down there, but I think that's all for now?)
Some notes:
The escape struggle is a bit too heavy on the RNG for the times each key stays in, if it cycles too fast you simply can't escape. I've escaped in as little as 2 mana bar charges, and as many as 20+... I modded the game increasing the minimum time from 0.75s to 1.5s and it improved that a lot. probably 1s is a reasonable min, or be a bit more forgiving on the decay time.
Had issues with scene transition leaving you "floating" stuck on the ceiling on the narrower corridors, and going up on transitions fails a lot as well.
Unity games usually ship out with all the game code in Mono/DotNet (unless you switch it to compiled, which can have issues). I usually edit the game code directly with dnSpy for small mods like that, though that's a bit rough for distributing mods. For distributing stuff it's usually better to make something cleaner using one of the Unity modding frameworks, like BepInEx.
For reference, is anyone experiencing miss inputs? For my Vivi keeps moving to the left without any inputs. I have disabled any and all controllers yet the issue still persists. If anyone has experienced this and managed to fix it I'd be glad to hear how you did it.

I was defeated and now I'm stuck at the cage. After freeing myself from bindings, can't attack and I'm only facing right.

I broke it, I was taking the gag out and as it came out I got hit by slime girl and it bugged me I cant move and she cant hit me anymore

putting an enemy that force you to crouch and an enemy that you can't hit while crouching in the same room is pure evil, I hope you know that
please clip the wings of the melee fairies
please remove knockback/stun from the ranged fairies and make their projectiles not go through solid blocks
actually just remove knockback/stun entirely
please disable the stamina system, the didnapper struggle mechanic is bad enough
please make fighting the knight less of a battle of attrition
also getting hit by the ranged maid disable your ability to attack, so please fix that

Damn the current version of this game is HARDCORE. Those of you who made it to the Slime Boss are True Metroidvania Legends.
As for me, I'm going to wait for 2.0, cause I couldn't even beat the first level.

It's really taxing on the hands for me using the struggle mechanic. Please make a little easier is all. Overall I enjoy the game
