The very first thing Yahweh has announced to Abraham is a promise, and that promise was a promise for the entire human race through Abraham. The history of Israel, therefore, is the unfolding of this promise which throughout history was on its way to being more developed and fulfilled. It, therefore, was re-renewed with David, preached by all prophets and finally fulfilled in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
In this research paper, therefore, how the promise to the patriarchs had developed, and what the problem of their fulfillments looked like will be discussed in a significant detail. In the course of doing this, meanings of key terms, a detailed description of the subject matter, scholarly views, and theological implications will be presented. By doing so, we will come to the conclusion that all the biblical promises were fulfilled by Jesus Christ through which all believers can partake the benefits.

The section is divided into three major categories which are based upon three significant historical periods of Ethiopian history. The themes for each of the three seasons are as follows: the season of persecution (symbolized by the Dergue regime), the pacification season (symbolized by the current ruling party, Ethiopian Peoples' Republic Democratic Front [EPRDF]'s season) and the coming generation (The anonymous and unidentified season). The first season begins in the period starting from the Dergue regime to the victory of EPRDF. The second season is the period starting from the dawn of the EPRDF to the present day. The last season is the church that can be anticipated into the future. Even though various major themes have been gained from the interviewees, only thematically summarized data will be analyzed. This summarized textual analysis of the three seasons will clearly give the portraits of the past, present and future. 4.1. Ethiopian Evangelicals' Christianity during the persecution: the past and the smallness of the church During the time of the persecution, Ethiopian evangelicals practiced Christianity primarily in the houses of individual Christians. Because the communist Dergue had declared a prohibition against the practice of religion, and because Protestants were severely detested by other religions, the only alternative for Christians to meet, maintain fellowship, share the word of God and worship was in individual christians' homes. Such small group and house group meetings during this season have take place in a variety of settings, with unique functions, and special features. A selected group of small group arrangements will be studied to express the characteristics and function of these groups during this unique seaon.
