Conventional provision of seeds or seedlings has a low success rate. Propagation via tissue culture is faster, produces more seeds, and is identical to the parent, so the plants’ quality is expected. Serangan Helopeltis spp. menjadi penyebab utama dalam turunnya poduktivitas kakao. Petani dalam mengendalikan hama Helopeltis spp. masih menggunakan insektisida sintetik yang dapat berdampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Serai wangi dan daun mengkudu memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif yang dapat dijadikan sebagai insektisida nabati dan bersifat ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan ekstrak yang paling efektif diantara ekstrak serai wangi, ekstrak daun mengkudu, dan kombinasi ekstrak keduanya dalam pengendalian hama penghisap buah kakao. The aim of the study was to determine the diversity of attacks of robusta coffee powder pests on four types of shade plants. The study was conducted in Tanggamus Regency, from May to August 2021. Sampling was carried out randomly based on the type of plant given as treatment, namely (1) mixed single stem coffee plants with pepper plants, shaded single Erythrina subumbrans plants, (2) mixed stem coffee plants with cacao under the shade of Glyricidae, (3) single-stem coffee plants with mixed shade of E. subumbrans and Glyricidae, and (4) single-stem coffee with mixed shade of E. subumbrans and mindri plants. The results showed that the level of coffee fruit pests on the four types of shade plants ranged from 15.28 -15.66 % and was not significant, while the average temperature under the shade was between 25 - 26.1...

The S. litura larvae often cause damage to the leaves of legume, corn, rice, onion, lettuce, must... more The S. litura larvae often cause damage to the leaves of legume, corn, rice, onion, lettuce, mustard, cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, and banana leaves. In general, people use synthetic insecticides to control it, although it is proven to cause environmental pollution, the emergence of resistance and pest resurgence. To reduce these impacts, it is necessary to look for alternative control methods that are safe, effective, and compatible with Integrated Pest Management techniques. Alternative controls that meet these criteria include botanical insecticides, because they are more specific, do not pollute the environment, are easily degraded in nature, and do not quickly cause resistance. Simaroubaceae family plants contain pesticides with active quasinoid compounds. One species of Simaroubaceae is Brucea javanica (L.) Merr. which is known as the Makasar fruit which contains alkaloid compounds, quassinoids (Bruceantine, bruceantinol, brusatol, bruceine), polyphenols, tannins and essential oils. Four quasinoid compounds from Samadera indica namely indakuasin, samaderin A, B, and C are inhibiting food, slowing development, and causing pupa death from Spodoptera litura caterpillar F. To control S. litura larvae in various plants and further research and development needs, then conducted a study "Effication of Macassar Fruit Extracts (Bruceae javanicaL. Merr.) to Control S. litura Larvae". The study used a randomized design with seven treatments and four replications. The seven treatments are fresh makasar fruit boiled extract, dry skinless makasar fruit boiled extract, dry skinned makasar fruit boiled extract, fresh makasar fruit fermented extract, skinless dry makasar fruit fermented extract, makasar dry skinned fruit fermented extract, and synthetic Lamda fruit insecticide cyhalothrin (as a control) with four replications. Fermentation extract is quite effective and can cause mortality of 61.7% to 63.3%. Boiled extract is less effective than boiled extract, which is only capable of causing 40.0% to 41.6% mortality.

Kemenperin mencatat, produksi gula nasional hanya mencapai angka 2,17 juta ton. Sementara, kebutuhan gula nasional mencapai 66 juta ton. Ini menandakan Indonesia baru mampu memenuhi 3,29% dari total kebutuhan nasional, sehingga lebih dari 96% defisit kebutuhan gula nasional yang belum mampu dan harus dipenuhi Indonesia.. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan komposisi media kultur yang tepat dan optimal untuk pertumbuhan akar dari kalus embriogenik tanaman tebu. Penelitian ini bertempat di Laboraturium Kultur Jaringan Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Proses induksi akar ini dilakukan melalui modifikasi media MS dengan campuran IAA, Kinetin, CM, 2,4-D, dan sukrosa yang dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok. Variabel yang diamati adalah respons kalus, waktu tumbuh akar, panjang akar dan jumlah akar. Hasil penelitian dan pengujian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan akar. Media dengan kombinasi IAA menghasilkan respons berupa akar, namun media dengan kombinasi 2,4-D memberikan respons berupa pelebaran kalus. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan perlakuan terbaik untuk pengakaran adalah kombinasi media IAA 1 mg.l-1 baik berupa ratarata panjang 1,56 cm dan jumlah akar 2,08. The research has been carried out at the farmer cacao plantation in Gedung Tataan Pesawaran and in Polinela Farm from may up to October 2011. The objective of the research is to evaluate the height position of insect traps. Five level height position of the traps have been evaluated in a field experiment with completely randomized block design (CRBD). Collected data have been analysed by Analysis of variance, and the difference among the treatments were tested by Least Significan Different (LSD). The results showed that height position affect the number of insect trapped. The best position is the trap that put on the main branch of cacao tree. Fifty patients with this deformity were treated by the Leeds procedure, which consists of segmental wiring to a kyphotically-contoured square-ended Harrington rod; this procedure not only derotates the spine but restores the natural thoracic kyphosis, thus avoiding subsequent buckling. All patients were followed up for a minimum of two years. Forty-two of these, who had a pre-operative Cobb angle of less than 60 degrees, were treated by one-stage instrumentation and fusion, while the remaining eight with greater curves underwent preliminary anterior multiple discectomy to provide flexibility with shortening. Postoperative loss of correction was not observed and there were no neurological complications.

Penelitian berlangsung selama 4 bulan mulai dari 18 November 2019 hingga 18 Maret 2020 di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Analisis Politeknik Negeri Lampung. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of various concentrations of bioinsecticide made of dioscorea tuber and aegle fruit extract on larval mortality. The research was conducted at the crop laboratory, Lampung State Polytechnic since October 2017 until December 2017. The experimental design is a completely randomized design with six treatments and four and replications. The parameters observed is mortality of armyworm larvae, which would then be analyzed using fingerprint of different varieties. That result showed that dioscorea tuber and aegle fruit extract has affected on larval mortality armyworm. Pure (100%) dioscorin tuber extract exhibited the highest larval mortality.
