I sometimes need to remind myself that when I spend hours staring at my phone, my brain registers that as staring into the bulb of a flashlight for hours.

We do talk a lot about how boomers never had to deal with today’s inflation and we shouldn’t stop but I also think it’s really important to start pointing out how they never had to deal with credit scores.

Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that “we’ve always had credit scores” because that’s not true. Credit scores were created in 1989. That’s very recent and I’m sure a lot of you were born around that time/know someone who doesn’t have gray hair from that time. Credit scores were a replacement system for red lining and are bullshit systems made to keep the poor (black people) poor and the rich (white people) rich and is constantly screwing over everyone.

Boomers could buy houses because they didn’t have to worry about having good credit scores. They never had to deal with modern inflation, the modern job market, and even credit scores.
