Teal Tones

Blues & greens are such calming colors. They remind me of the ocean, with its vast surfaces & infinite horizons. They also represent the open sky. Teal, is, of course, a combination of blue & green! This 1887 teal gown is made of silk and wool. The dress and high-necked bodice is covered in tiny glass beads. The front of the skirt has an asymetrical swag. A spencer-type coat, trimmed in marigold orange silk piping trims the jacket and. The same orange silk is pleated and trims the cuffs and the neckline.
