Cerused: A technique designed to draw out the the detail and character of the grain in a piece of wood. We wanted a cerused look on this white oak table top. Steps taken are below: 1. Sand wood to 120 grit. 2. Clean using Raw Wood Cleaner 3. Apply Precolor Easy “Intense Black”. 4. Apply Oil Plus 2C “White” 5. Remove ALL excess Oil Plus 2C with clean terry cloths. 6. Enjoy! I want to change my golden oak cabinets, so I tried a test of the new General Finishes Ash Gray gel stain. This is two coats pulled thin. I like how a little brown shows through but not the gold/orange tone. And I like that you can still see the grain without the finish looking solid like paint.
