{Spring/Summer 2013 Pre-Collection: And the snow…}
This is an ongoing project exploring the word ‘white’ and its personal connotations.
It is the memory of standing alone in the dark woods, listening to the snow falling softly around me.
The clothes are ready to be dyed, printed, rusted, dirtied or bathed in light according to the environment which surrounds them.
Artist statement
I’ve been making clothes since I was very small and earned a first class honours degree in Fashion Studies at the London College of Fashion. I’m now working as a BA Fashion Lecturer at Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts.
My specialities are experimental pattern cutting and computer aided design. I love the tactile quality of fabric and all the weird and wonderful things that can be done with it. My clothing design is conceptual and wearable sculpture inspired by my personal photography and cultural heritage. I use eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics and processes wherever possible.
