Sharia Swimming Pool: A Practice and the Factors that Affect Consumers

The swimming pool is a part of tourism, entertainment, and sports activities. The development of ... more The swimming pool is a part of tourism, entertainment, and sports activities. The development of halal tourism demands swimming pool facilities that can better meet Sharia principles that benefit Muslim consumers. This study aims to reveal Sharia swimming pool management practices and explore why its customers choose Sharia swimming pools over conventional swimming pools. This research was conducted to reveal the halal lifestyle that has penetrated halal tourism, including swimming pools based on Sharia principles. This study uses a phenomenological approach to reveal the phenomenon of swimming pool practices and factors that affect its customers. This study interviewed 15 people with characteristics of high-intensity Sharia swimming pool use. It revealed that Islamic pool management practices include rules for members to enter, swimwear, facilities, and services provided. This study explores the factors influencing Islamic pool consumers by grouping them internally and externally. Internal factors impacting Sharia swimming pool users include comfort, halal lifestyle, and health. At the same time, the support of facilities, encouragement from others, and unpleasant experiences in public or traditional swimming pools are part of external factors. This study is expected to become a reference for Sharia swimming pool management practices and evidence of the findings of factors that encourage consumers to choose Sharia swimming pools.

In the background of the conflicting socio-political conditions of Muslims in the world, in parti... more In the background of the conflicting socio-political conditions of Muslims in the world, in particular twentieth-century India, when Muslims were subjected to decline, forced conversions and cultural onslaught, Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) produced an apolitical interpretation of Islam. Having its presence in over a hundred and fifty countries worldwide, this movement has further capacity to flourish in a wide range of socio-political environments. Against this backdrop, the focus of this paper is to provide an insight into the TJ, its composition, and its ideology- with reference to Jihad and politics. Research methods and techniques like participant observation, sampling and face-to-face interviews were used to ascertain the data. It was found that TJ’s pragmatic approach to controversial issues like politics, Jihad, and Dawah (invitation) or Tabligh (preaching) has been the main reason for its success. However, the attitude of regimes in the age of Islamophobia towards Islam and Islamic movements and their consequent adaptation of western or non-Islamic values will also determine the future course of action of peaceful Islamic movements like TJ.

Or is it simply cultural difference (ethnocentrism or xenophobia) that it is regarded as oppressive. Many people argue Islam oppresses and discriminates women by wearing veils or hijab, while few people view it as a sign of women‟s protection or liberation. These two views are held by West and Europe, and Islam respectively. The tight, transparent or half nude dress which Islam prohibits is admired in western culture and flaunted by western women. Tablighi Jamaat is one of the most prominent and most widespread Islamic missionary movements of ... more Tablighi Jamaat is one of the most prominent and most widespread Islamic missionary movements of 20th century Islam. It’s active today almost in every country wherever Muslims live. The organization is said to be having a presence in between 150 to 200 countries, with its estimated adherents numbering between twelve million to one hundred fifty million, the majority of which are living in South Asia. It primarily focuses on making Muslims better and purer Muslims. When they visit a village or any place, they invite local people to assemble in a mosque and present their message in the form of six principles. These six principles are commonly called “chai baati’’ (six talks) in Tablighi circles. These six principles are: Kalimah ‘Article of Faith’, Salah ‘Prayers’, Ilm and Zikr ‘Knowledge and Remembrance of God’, Ikraam-i-Muslim ‘Respect for Muslim’, Ikhlas-e-Niyyat, ‘Sincerity of Intention’ and Tafrigh-i-waqt ‘Sparing of time in tabligh (preaching)’. These six principles are fundamental to the teachings of ‘Tablighi Jamaat’ and represent the basic ideological structure of the Tablighi Movement.

Regardless of age and state; everybody is engaged in some kind of sport somehow; everybody plays sport or is interested in some kind of sport. In Islam it is not only permissible but religious obligation (Sunnaha)-a Prophetic tradition to play some sports. These include walking, running, wrestling, swimming, horse riding etc. In essence participation in 'sport ' in Islam are twofold ; one to be fit and healthy to carry out fundamental religious obligations like dawah (call towards Islam), offering five times prayer daily, keeping fasts and performing Hajj and ; second to protect oneself and sacred limits of Islam against enemy, evils, aggression and oppression commonly termed as 'jihad'. Further Islam encourages sports which involves mutual love, respect and cooperation and prohibits sport which involves grudge, hatred and animosity. In this paper an effort has been made to throw light on 'participation in sport' in the light of Islamic rules or guidelines .This paper is primarily based on secondary data. The main aim of the paper is to explore Islamic teachings about the ruling of sport so that it will be not just entertaining activity but a blessed and fruitful one. Besides, it's purpose is to develop taste for the 'participation in sport' and to broaden our understanding regarding.

Tourism is considered as the major tool of economic development throughout the globe, and economi... more Tourism is considered as the major tool of economic development throughout the globe, and economic impacts of tourism have become more and more reiterated and more noticeable in society. On the other hand, little attention is paid relatively to non-economic or socio-cultural impacts of tourism. However, it is now being accepted that tourism and its related activities need to be properly planned and managed if they are to make an ongoing contribution to sustainable socio-economic prosperity. So need of the hour is to examine the whole array of impacts and not just stop at economic aspects of tourism development. In this paper, an attempt has been made to examine the socio-cultural impacts of tourism on the Kashmir valley. The perception of the residents regarding the socio-cultural impact of tourism-positive & negative will be also taken into account. Additionally, this paper will also throw light on the problems and prospectus of tourism in Kashmir which otherwise has the great potential to boost its economy. This paper is primarily based on secondary data. The main objective of the paper is to highlight the socio-cultural impacts of tourism in Kashmir valley and to highlight the problems and future prospects for sustainable tourism development in Kashmir valley.

This philosophy is based on his two concepts; one, sovereignty belongs to God and purpose of every Muslim is to establish Gods rule on earth, and second, Islam is a complete and comprehensive way of life governing all aspects of life social, economic, political etc. Thus the main purpose of the Jamaat-i Islami (community of the Muslims) according to Maududi was to establish sovereignty of God on earth known by other terms also, like Islamic state or Darul Islam. Its influence and success have been reported from over 180 countries, including North Africa, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, as well as among Muslim immigrants in the western European countries (like Germany, France, Switzerland), Eastern Europe (Denmark, UK), Canada, United States, and Australia. This is primarily because of its unique ideology and organisational features like its apolitical nature, focusing on touring, travelling or patrolling, showing aversion to publicity and perceiving dawah (preaching or invitation towards Islam) as the fundamental obligation of each and every Muslim enjoined by Quran. Against this backdrop, this book provides a simple and lucid description of Tablighi Jamaat’s ideology and organisational structure.

Additionally, this paper will also throw light on the problems and prospectus of tourism in Kashmir which otherwise has the great potential to boost its economy. This paper is primarily based on secondary data. The main objective of the paper is to highlight the socio-cultural impacts of tourism in Kashmir valley and to highlight the problems and future prospects for sustainable tourism development in Kashmir valley.

The Islamic political philosophy of Maududi represents the ideology of the Jamaat. This philosophy is based on his two concepts; one, sovereignty belongs to God and purpose of every Muslim is to establish Gods rule on earth, and second, Islam is a complete and comprehensive way of life governing all aspects of life social, economic, political etc. Thus the main purpose of the Jamaat-i Islami (community of the Muslims) according to Maududi was to establish sovereignty of God on earth known by other terms also, like Islamic state or Darul Islam. Emerging from the social , economic and religious conditions of the Mewat region, near Delhi around 1926, it has come to establish its presence in and over one hundred and fifty countries throughout the world with adherents in between 100 to 150 million. This is primarily because of the unique ideology it has pursued in its dawah (call towards Islam) and has further capacity to flourish in a wide range of social and political environments. In this paper an effort has been made to through light on the ideological structure of the Tablighi Jamaat. The paper is based on secondary sources and the main objective of the paper is to provide deep insight into the ideological structure of the Tablighi Jamaat in a precise, compact and systematic manner.
