This paper makes an endeavor to examine the limit job satisfaction concomitance with certain mana... more This paper makes an endeavor to examine the limit job satisfaction concomitance with certain managerial competencies. Managerial competencies like goal setting and team building are taken as independent variables, where as leadership style is mediating variable and job satisfaction as dependent measures. The data were collected from 307 executives of banking sector in West Bengal, India. The data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 15.0. The analyses of the same were carried out using correlation and multiple regressions analysis techniques. The results revealed that these managerial competencies had significantly predicted job satisfaction indicating their positive association with satisfaction. It was also found that the appropriate leadership style had significantly mediated the relationship of managerial competencies and job satisfaction. The findings tried to establish that the management should adopt transformational style of leadership to facilitate better performance, where the managers can use these competencies to enhance performance and a higher level of job satisfaction.

The specific managerial competencies of goal setting and team building were taken as independent variables, leadership style as a moderating variable, and organizational effectiveness was treated as a dependent measure. The Data were collected from 307 executives belonging to banking sector from West Bengal, and analyzed using correlation, multiple regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique. The results showed that these managerial competencies had significantly predicted organizational effectiveness indicating their positive association with leadership style and organizational effectiveness. It was also found that the leadership style had significantly moderated the relationship between these competencies and organizational effectiveness. The findings have implications for management that they should closely examine their managerial competencies and leadership style to facilitate high performance among managers.

In this context, it is important to examine the relat ionship between decision-ma king styles with conflict handling. Th is study focuses primarily on exp loring the role of conflict management used in the organizat ion as predictors of decision-making styles. The Data collected fro m 307 executives belonging to banking sector fro m West Bengal, India. The Data analysed using descriptive and simp le regressions analysis techniques. Results suggest that conflict-handling style used in the organization in addition to decision maker's education and management levels are good predictors of decision-making styles in such an environment. Results also indicate that a tendency towards the analytical style prevails among managers. Further, the implication o f the contribution made by this study to the body of management theory and practice discussed.
Research and Development (R&D) employees considered to be innovative and creative. They are regar... more Research and Development (R&D) employees considered to be innovative and creative. They are regarded as the core of human resources as well as the prime mover of new values in an enterprise. Research and Development (R&D) teams in organizations are commonly used to solve problems and accomplish creative tasks. However, very few studies have identified the variables that affect team-level creativity, the optimal conditions that promote it, and how to design team for optimal creativeness and high quality performance. This study carried out a survey of R&D employees working in teams, the flow of R&D employees and the contentment degree to R&D employees' present job. This study explored and validated five major factors that affect R&D team creativity by team shared mental models in Indian context, including task characteristics, team formation, team leadership, member characteristics, and organizational environment. Results showed that we should pay attention to the team interaction with member, task and process to improve team creativity. Further from conclusions of the study, this paper put forward some management suggestions to R&D team creativity.
