This article aims to identify the prioritized tourism indicators in the banana plantation regions... more This article aims to identify the prioritized tourism indicators in the banana plantation regions of northern State of Santa Catarina [Brasil]. Tourism in the banana plantation area benefits from the preservation of the Atlantic Forest. The agroecological production model generates interest and involvement of people in the development of tourism in the region. This study was developed through a qualitative and quantitative approach, survey procedure, and questionnaire via survey. Bivariate correlation tests were developed with environmental preservation as the independent variable. Thus, the use of the matrix was listed in order of priority: the need for greater appreciation regarding the Designation of Origin, promotion of family farming, promotion of gastronomic tourism, development of the hotel sector, and encouragement of local entrepreneurship. A model of tourism indicators related to banana farming and the importance of environmental preservation was proposed. The findings benefit residents and producers, tourism providers, and people involved in the formulation of policies to encourage travel and environmental preservation around banana plantations.

The presence of vegetation in urban spaces is a crucial indicator for describing the quality of l... more The presence of vegetation in urban spaces is a crucial indicator for describing the quality of life of city inhabitants. The lack of green areas can contribute, primarily, to an increase in the sensation of thermal discomfort during periods of intense heat, negatively impacting the health and comfort of residents. Thus, the aim of this article is to investigate the intrinsic relationship between the vegetative environment and human well-being, with a speci c focus on the community of Alvorada Neighborhood in the municipality of Guanambi, Bahia. The evaluation of green areas was conducted based on the vegetation coverage index (VCI), population density, aerial photograph analysis, and the percentage of vegetation established by institutions, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (good health and wellbeing), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and 13 (climate action). Accordingly, this article sought to deepen the understanding of the relationships between the urban vegetation index and the quality of life of local residents, aiming to stimulate concrete actions and positive re ections in the Alvorada Neighborhood community. Therefore, the study addressed the delimited area in a way that provided the necessary foundation to highlight that the Vegetation Coverage Index (VCI) has a signi cant impact on the overall state of the population.

Um mecanismo relevante para auxiliar no processo de planejamento é através da participação democrática, sobretudo com o apoio da Sociedade Civil Organizada (SCO), e suas redes. No contexto das SCOs destaca-se o relevante papel exercido pelas instituições de pesquisa e extensão, tendo como aparatos de base, os resultados técnico-científicos de pesquisas conduzidas, principalmente aplicadas. From the accelerated process of global urbanization, themes that permeate the socio‐environmental... more From the accelerated process of global urbanization, themes that permeate the socio‐environmental context of cities, echo as strong practical aspects to be debated and studied, for example, aspects of urban policies connected with governance. In this sense, this research seeks to answer the following question: to what extent do urban policies, together with the triad environmental, social, and governance (ESG), articulate and promote a sustainable production of urban spaces? The objective was to explore the existing gaps in the interrelationship of urban policies and governance through the perspective of sustainable production of urban spaces, seeking evidence in theoretical and practical ways. The methodology uses bibliometric techniques to systematically review the integration of documents specified in methodological treatment, first by establishing key search words, and sequentially defining the databases that could provide the necessary data for the systematic reflections of the research, narrowed to a period between the years 2017 and 2021 and through Scopus and Web of Science databases. Our research provides evidence that urban policies, connected with the execution of governance, become important both for the promotion of ecological balance and for the environmental maintenance of cities, striving for their preservation and at times restoration and revitalization, thus enabling the proposal to establish urban policies in connection with ESG.

Considering the dynamics inserted in the socioeconomic context and its results, which rapidly cha... more Considering the dynamics inserted in the socioeconomic context and its results, which rapidly challenge socio-environmental debates, promoting reflections that make sustainable development anable, proposals that indicate climate adaptations echo as themes of great relevance. Thus, thinking about parameters to weave reflections on climate adaptation emerges as a pillar for sustainable development, inserting it in certain contexts, in this work, specifically in the strategic planning of cooperatives. In this sense, this study aims to analyze the obstacles to the implementation of the strategic planning of a family farming cooperative in the municipality of São Ludgero. The obstacles found for this planning decline the prospects for improvements in climate adaptation, highlighting the relevance of proposing strategic plans with a greater proportion, striving for the dissemination and propagation of Sustainable Development. The qualitative research approach was chosen as a methodological strategy, with descriptive characteristics, based on a case study. Among the main results, from the literature review, the theme proved to be very relevant to contribute to climate adaptation. Nevertheless, from the field perspectives, it was found that there are obstacles to be faced by the cooperative in the implementation of strategic planning, including: 1) a lack of trained people to update, monitor and support cooperative members, 2) difficulties in obtaining the necessary documentation to participate in larger bids, 3) lack of information among members of the cooperative. Based on the research evidence it is possible to conclude that although the presented obstacles compromise the future activities of this cooperative, they are likely to be overcome, and these should be components of the Strategic Planning itself.

In this context, one of the essential mechanisms to be studied and debated is the role of universities in promoting a culture for sustainable development, which has a crucial role in strengthening debates, studies, research, and results together with society. Thus, it was from this perspective that this chapter aims to weave theoretical-methodological considerations on the topic under discussion, aligning the discussion with the objectives of sustainable development. Therefore, this chapter, in addition to a refined structure on higher education, also brings a structure of methods that enable a systematic discussion on the subject, including examples and different perspectives on the role of universities in promoting education for sustainable development. And in view of the above, this chapter signals both the continuity on the topic as a real and necessary perspective, as well as the relevance and contributions of this chapter.

Nesse sentido, com esta pesquisa objetivou-se verificar os indicadores das produções científicas inerentes ao tema, sob vias interdisciplinares numa dinâmica internacional.
